Meet our partner Alessandro Pracucci from Levery s.r.l. Società Benefit

Levery s.r.l. Società Benefit is a firm dedicated to bridging the gap between cutting-edge Research & Innovation and market adoption in the construction sector. Our core purpose is to accelerate the introduction of sustainable, high-impact solutions, focusing on the holistic value chain of advanced building products. We want this innovation to be well known by the stakeholders and we promote the insights of the projects we are involved in or we think are valuable to a wider audience, from key players to future professionals.

What’s your role in MC2.0?

Our role is to be a research-to-market accelerator supporting the technological integration of PV in building products. We are supporting the Building Integrated Photovoltaics partners, specifically Glass to Power’s innovative PV-IGU Helion into the Gualini curtain wall façade system. This involves a crucial, holistic approach: from defining performance requirements (find more info in our publication on the subject at http://agathon.it/agathon/article/view/443), to working in design tests with partners like EURAC, and promoting eco-design practices with new methodology to align existing and upcoming BIPV manufactures with emerging European regulations (like the ESPR): we would like to ensure the innovative product meets the market’s demands for desirability, affordability and technical feasibility.

What makes this project so interesting?

The core contribution of MC2.0 is solving the critical challenge of Mass-Customization for active components. BIPV is now mature enough for architectural integration, but the challenge remains the PV element added to standard processes. This project offers the opportunity to support BIPV manufacturers and conventional building products manufacturers, in shifting from passive components to active, customized PV solutions at an affordable cost. By focusing on a Process-to-Product approach, we are challenging the industry to offer customized, low-cost PV embedded directly into building envelope components. This is the key to boosting the widespread introduction of BIPV and is the great contribution of MC2.0.
